Injectables at NCSS are done differently than at any medspa or clinic-based injector: performed by your surgeon while you are asleep, in our AAAHC-accredited operating rooms, under physician anesthesia. It is a premium model that trades the 'walk in on your lunch break' convenience of the medspa for three things that matter more to some patients:
- No discomfort. You feel nothing during placement. No repeated needle sticks while awake, no accumulated soreness across a long session.
- Perfect stillness for precise placement. Anesthesia eliminates the small flinches and involuntary muscle movements that limit accuracy in clinic-based injection.
- The actual plastic surgeon making every decision. Not a delegate. Your affiliated surgeon studies your face, plans the treatment, and delivers it — the same aesthetic judgment behind their surgical work applied to your injectables.
Two families of injectables are performed this way:
Neuromodulators — Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Daxxify. Temporarily relax specific facial muscles to soften dynamic wrinkles (forehead lines, glabellar frown lines, crow's feet). Effect appears in 3–7 days, lasts 3–4 months for most products, 4–6 months for Daxxify.
Dermal fillers — hyaluronic acid fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, RHA collection), calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse), and stimulators like Sculptra. Add volume to areas that have hollowed with age — cheeks, tear troughs, nasolabial folds, lips, chin. Effect is immediate; duration varies by product from months to years.
Both categories are frequently combined in a single treatment session — and can be added to surgical procedures already scheduled for the same OR visit.

Injectable-averse patients
Patients who want the results of injectables but genuinely dislike needles or have not tolerated clinic-based injection well. The asleep model removes the discomfort entirely.
Combined with other surgery
Patients scheduled for facelift, LiteLift®, blepharoplasty, or other procedures who want injectables added while they are already anesthetized. One recovery period, comprehensive treatment.
Wanting the surgeon's aesthetic judgment
Patients who prefer that the plastic surgeon making their surgical decisions also make their injectable decisions — not a nurse injector or clinic-based physician working from photos and templates.
Complex or extensive treatment planning
Patients wanting substantial injectable work in one session — multiple areas of neuromodulator plus filler across the face — where clinic-based awake treatment would be uncomfortable.
Realistic understanding of the tradeoffs
The asleep model requires OR time, physician anesthesia, and pre-op medical clearance. It is priced accordingly. Patients wanting a $12 unit deal at a chain medspa should go to that chain medspa; NCSS injectables are a different tier of care.
Not pregnant or breastfeeding
Injectables are not administered during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Detailed consultation and mapping
Your affiliated surgeon evaluates your face in detail during consultation — muscle strength, tissue quality, volume distribution, aesthetic goals — and maps a specific treatment plan.
Product selection appropriate to the goal
Among neuromodulators, choice among Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Daxxify depends on your goals, prior treatment history, and desired duration. Among fillers, choice among HA products (Juvederm, Restylane, RHA), calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse), and biostimulators (Sculptra) depends on the specific target and desired longevity.
Anesthesia and precise placement
Once you are asleep, your surgeon executes the mapped plan without patient movement, discomfort, or the need to work around expression. This is the technical advantage of the asleep model.
Combined with other work when scheduled together
If your injectables are being added to a facelift, blepharoplasty, or other procedure, they are delivered as part of the same OR visit — no additional anesthesia exposure.
Structured post-op protocol
Same-day discharge after anesthesia recovery. Written instructions for the first 24–48 hours (avoiding lying flat, avoiding rubbing the treated areas). Follow-up as needed.
Every case at NCSS is under physician anesthesia in our AAAHC-accredited operating rooms — no CRNAs, no exceptions. This standard applies to injectables the same way it applies to surgical work.
Two sites. One recovery.
Anesthesia recovery in our facility until you are ready for discharge. Your dedicated nurse walks you to your car. A caregiver must drive you home; no driving for 24 hours after anesthesia.
Avoid lying flat, vigorous exercise, or rubbing/massaging the treated areas. Small bumps at each injection point (like insect bites) resolve within hours. Rare pinpoint bruising possible — easily covered with makeup.
Return to normal activity. Fillers show immediate result. Neuromodulator effect begins to appear.
Full neuromodulator effect apparent by day 7 for most products; slightly faster for Dysport, slightly slower for Daxxify. Filler swelling continues to settle.
Final settled result for both categories. Follow-up visit if desired to review results and refine plan for next treatment.
3–4 months typical, 4–6 months for Daxxify. Retreatment scheduled based on when effect begins to diminish.
Varies dramatically by product: 6–18 months for most hyaluronic acid fillers, longer for Radiesse, up to 2 years for Sculptra with full treatment series. Retreatment before complete resolution maintains steady result.
