The LiteLift® is a registered facial rejuvenation technique developed by Drs. Jed Horowitz and Larry Nichter at Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery. It is not a mini-facelift or a 'lunchtime lift' — both of those terms are imprecise and have been used loosely by many surgeons for very different procedures. The LiteLift® is a specific technique that occupies a defined middle ground between injectables (which don't address tissue descent) and traditional facelift (which addresses everything but requires 2–3 weeks of visible recovery).
For the right candidate — someone whose face has begun to show early or moderate aging but doesn't yet warrant the depth of a full traditional facelift — the LiteLift® delivers meaningful, natural-looking rejuvenation with substantially shorter downtime. Most patients return to social activity within a week rather than two to three.
Drs. Horowitz and Nichter are the co-developers of the technique and the two surgeons on our roster who perform it. The trademark protects the specific approach they have refined at Pacific Center; it is not offered under this name elsewhere in Newport Beach.
Who this procedure is designed for.
The LiteLift® is designed for patients with early to moderate facial aging who want meaningful results with a shorter recovery.
Early to moderate facial aging
Beginning jowling, softening of the jawline, mild-to-moderate mid-face descent. Not yet at the stage where a traditional deep-plane facelift is warranted.
Prioritizing shorter recovery
Patients whose work or social schedule cannot accommodate 2–3 weeks of visible recovery. The LiteLift® return-to-social is typically 5–7 days rather than 10–14.
Good skin quality
The LiteLift® relies on modest tissue repositioning; it works best when the underlying skin still has good elasticity. Very sun-damaged or heavily photoaged skin may need adjunct treatments or a fuller procedure.
Realistic expectations
The LiteLift® delivers meaningful refreshment, not the depth of a full facelift. Patients wanting maximum longevity or comprehensive rejuvenation should consider a traditional facelift.
Willing to have honest conversation
Drs. Horowitz and Nichter will tell you honestly if you would be better served by a different procedure. Not everyone who asks about LiteLift® is a candidate for it.

Three stages, one procedure.
Because the LiteLift® is a proprietary technique, the specifics of the surgical approach are discussed in detail during your consultation with Dr. Horowitz or Dr. Nichter. The general principles that distinguish it from other facelift approaches:
Focused, not full-face
The LiteLift® addresses the lower face and jawline specifically, rather than the deeper mid-face and neck work of a traditional facelift.
Smaller incisions in natural creases
Shorter incisions placed within the hairline and along natural facial contours, minimizing visible scarring.
Real SMAS work, not skin-only
Unlike simple skin-tightening approaches, the LiteLift® addresses the underlying fascia (SMAS layer), which is what produces natural-looking, durable results rather than the tight or pulled appearance of a skin-only lift.
Local anesthesia with sedation, in appropriate cases
Many LiteLift® cases can be performed under local anesthesia with light sedation rather than full general anesthesia — a factor in the faster recovery. Physician anesthesia coverage is maintained regardless of technique.
Complementary procedures common
Often paired with blepharoplasty, brow lift, or fat transfer to face for a fully refreshed result while still preserving the shorter overall recovery.
Every case at NCSS is under physician anesthesia — no CRNAs — and Dr. Denise Scott (endocrinology) is on call for our surgical patients.
Two sites. One recovery.
Discharged the day of surgery. Compression dressing worn overnight. Mild-to-moderate discomfort managed with the standard multimodal pain protocol.
Swelling and bruising present but substantially less than traditional facelift. Most patients return to work and social activity between days 5–7.
Residual swelling continues to resolve. Incisions healing well. Most patients feel they look completely normal to the outside observer.
Final result becomes fully apparent. Incisions fade further.
Well-performed LiteLift® results typically last 5–10 years, depending on the patient's aging trajectory. Some patients later pursue a traditional facelift when the LiteLift® has been outgrown; others continue to maintain with the LiteLift® approach.
Every LiteLift® patient at NCSS is covered by our Rest-Assure program: physician anesthesia on the day of surgery, one nurse from arrival through discharge, and post-operative direct access to your surgeon — not an answering service.
