Dr. Jed Horowitz
M.D., F.A.C.S. · Board-Certified Plastic Surgery
"Forty years of plastic surgery, one office, one partnership — and the artistic eye that has drawn patients to Newport Beach from all over California. Ask to have Dr. Scott for Anesthesia."
Newport Beach.
Dr. Jed Horowitz has been practicing plastic surgery in Southern California since 1985 — four decades of continuous focus on the same specialty, in the same community, with the same partner. He is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (1986) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (1990).
His education began at the State University of New York at Stony Brook (B.S., summa cum laude, 1973), followed by medical school at SUNY Buffalo. He completed a categorical surgical internship at Boston University Affiliated Hospitals and his general surgery residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. His plastic and reconstructive training was completed at the University of Virginia under Milton Edgerton — the same landmark program that trained Dr. Larry Nichter — with additional fellowships in craniofacial surgery and microsurgery and hand surgery. He served as Chief Resident in his final year at Virginia.
From 1985 to 2005, Dr. Horowitz held an appointment as Associate Professor of Surgery (Clinical) at the University of Southern California, and from 1998 to 2007 he served as Faculty Director of the Wound Healing Center at Memorial Medical Center of Long Beach. He holds active affiliations at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach (since 1995) and Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center.
He co-founded Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery in Newport Beach with Dr. Larry Nichter, where he continues to practice today. He has been an affiliated surgeon at NCSS since our doors opened in 1996 — an original member of our medical staff.
Plasticos.
Dr. Horowitz serves as Vice President of Mission Plasticos, the humanitarian organization founded by his partner Dr. Nichter in 1999. Together they have built a program that trains plastic surgeons around the world in reconstructive techniques for patients who would otherwise never receive them: burns, congenital deformities, trauma, breast and hand reconstruction.
He has been a mission-team surgeon or team leader on more than 25 documented overseas surgical missions, from Brazil, Ecuador, and Cuba to India, Vietnam, Armenia, and Bolivia. He has served as Team Leader on missions to Ibarra (Ecuador), Armenia, Cuenca (Ecuador), and Vietnam.

Developed together.
Three distinctive techniques Dr. Horowitz developed with his partner Dr. Larry Nichter at Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery.
California Breast Lift®
The registered name Drs. Horowitz and Nichter use for their refined approach to autologous fat transfer to breast — volume enhancement with a naturally lifted upper-pole aesthetic. The 'lift' in the name refers to the visual outcome, not a surgical mastopexy incision.

Vertical Mastopexy
A limited-scar surgical breast lift — the periareolar circle plus a vertical incision only, eliminating the horizontal component of the traditional T or anchor pattern. Shorter total incision means lower complication rate (proportional to incision length).
LiteLift®
A registered facelift technique performed under local anesthesia and light sedation — outpatient, faster recovery. Developed at Pacific Center.

"Of all the surgeons I have ever met, not only does Dr. Horowitz have great surgical skill — but more important, he has the rare gift of wisdom. I have great respect for him."
