Combating the Allergan Implant: Ideal Implants
Dr. Larry Nichter has been on the front lines of medical innovation, being highlighted in research papers, popular magazines, and on national television on multiple occasions. Over 25 years as a Board Certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Nichter has helped to develop the Ideal saline implant for breast revision and augmentation procedures. Due to the recent developments of the previously standard, Allergen Implants, the Ideal Implant is receiving national recognition. The Ideal implant has the feel of a silicone implant, and the safety of a saline implant. The European Union's national heath agency advises patients with certain Allergan implants to undergo regular checks with their doctors for a blood cancer called anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL). This disease occurs more often in women with textured silicone breast implants. Plastic surgeons have identified more than 600 implant related cases of this disease worldwide. Dr. Nichter recognized that the Ideal implant may be the way to avoid this potential problem. Read more about this topic below.
